As if things weren’t going badly enough already in my personal life, I sprained my ankle at the weekend. I think I’ve gone full-circle and felt so stressed out and downtrodden that now I’m just laughing at the absurdity of the whole thing. What will life throw at me next? Who knows. Hopefully this module ends before I find out.
Once I decided the route I was going to go down for this project, I was able to approach CAD with a more focused mindset.
Having written my project proposal for the final module, Design for Context, I began to collect visual research based around my chosen theme of space and space travel.

Conclusion: It’s been a productive few weeks!
Over the last two weeks or so, I’ve been getting to grips with paper screen print.
I’ve had a really good week!
During the research weeks I’ve had the opportunity to try different slow-crafting methods and really enjoyed them, but admittedly this project has gotten off to a shaky start, namely due to my brain being so fogged that I’ve barely been able to hold a conversation, let alone come to any conclusive design decisions.
I feel I’ve hit upon a fairly solid formula for creating designs this module, and am aiming for quality over quantity since each motif involves creating a lot of primary source imagery and textures to scan in with, and the composition needs to be carefully considered.
This week I have been working on toiles.
