Creating Toiles and Further Patterns
I am working on creating even more toile designs, pushing the boundaries of colour and pattern through the use of Photoshop. After the Christmas break I feel I have lost touch with some of my ideas, therefore I have begun by returning to drawing and collage just to regain my confidence with design and restore my faith in my ideas.
Design for Digital: Research, Research, Research!
I have started research for the new brief, ‘Design for Digital’ where my concept involves combining the eighteenth century with that of the twenty-first.
There and Back Again; a journey through figurative and abstract imagery.
I believe that my work has evolved rapidly within the last week, due to swift decision-making, a delve back into research and broad experimentation.
Starting out: Freshers and Drawing and Setting Goals.
First year of university studies (Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design BA (Hons)). First critical journal entry. Let’s go! Firstly I’d like to outline my broadest goals for this year:
- Tackle anxiety in an academic context
- Not be a perfectionist!
- Show up to everything
- Develop a somewhat clear ‘design direction’
- Have fun 🙂
